Monthly Newsletter

We are finishing our assessments with the children. Parents will be receiving a copy once they are all completed. Please note that we are aware that your child may be able to do some of the things asked, but either refused or was unable to do so at the time they were assessed. If you have any questions about your child’s progress and would like to set up a meeting with their teacher, please let us know.

Starting November 1st, we will be applying a 3% charge for tuition paid online through Procare. Each year, we incur approximately $3,000 in expenses and would like to see this being used towards the children instead of paying this fee. The 3% fee will be included for all student invoices each month but will be deducted if you send in check or cash. The check/cash may be placed in your child’s lunchbox or taped to it. This will be the easiest way to find the payments without having to go through every pocket of their bookbags. Procare is a great app for us to be able to communicate

We are excited to have NC Lions KidSight Program offer a free vision screening to the children this year! They will be doing this on Tuesday, November 7th and Wednesday, November 8th.  A permission form will be sent home with the children to participate in the screening. Please return this form as soon as possible.

This month’s Safety Class will be on Choking, Strangulation & Suffocation Prevention. Mrs Melaine will be teaching the children what to do to prevent this from happening.

November finds us talking about Thanksgiving and all that we are thankful for with the children. As we teach the children about thankfulness, we also want to teach them that they can help other children, too!  Each year the members of Mt. Pleasant Church and surrounding communities collect items for the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. You may pick up a box during drop-off or pick-up and return when you have it ready.  The deadline to turn in the boxes is Friday, November 17th.

We will be closed on Thursday, November 9th for Teacher’s Workday & Friday, November 10th for Veteran’s Day.  Our Thanksgiving break will be Wednesday, November 22nd – Sunday, November 26th.   I hope everyone takes the time to thank God for all they have!

Looking ahead:  The Preschool Children’s Christmas Program will be Monday, December 18th and Tuesday, December 19th at 11:00 am.  The preschool will be closed on Wednesday, December 20th – Sunday, January 7th for our Christmas, and New Year’s break.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!
