We welcome everyone to Mt. Pleasant Methodist Preschool! The children will spend the next few weeks getting to know their teachers and classmates. We have many new students this year and welcome them and their families to our community and the life of Mt. Pleasant Church.

We are excited that Stretch-n-Grow will be back this year. This is a special exercise program that the preschool offers to children. Mrs. Hilary exercises with the children while also teaching them how to eat healthily.  

Pastor Kaleb along with Alexis Thompson will be leading our Chapel Time in the Sanctuary each month. I hope you take the opportunity to ask your child what they learned in Chapel.

 

Medic Melanie with Catawba County Emergency Medical Services will visit us each month with a new safety topic. She assigns the children as Safety Patroller to be on the lookout for any safety concerns in their home involving our topic each month. We plan to have a car seat inspection on September 23rd & 24th. This will take place during pick-up. Medic Melanie and her techs will be available to check that your child’s car seat is safely secured. We strongly recommend you take advantage of this opportunity.

 

We are still working with the Catawba County Smart Start Early Childhood support team to provide the children of the preschool with the best environment and resources in which they can learn and develop. They also provide CPR/First Aid training for the staff. We have worked diligently with them to have the most updated information about preschool/daycare programs. They will be there to provide us with any advice or actions needed.

 

Amanda Watts is our parent representative on the Preschool Board. Amanda has four children that have graduated from Mt. Pleasant Preschool and one that will be attending preschool again this year. She attends preschool board meetings and can share any concerns from parents at that time. She can be reached at a.mathiason@yahoo.com.

 

We communicate with parents through Brightwheel.  It is especially important that you download the app to your phone or computer to receive essential information. Please let us know if you have any issues with this app.
